We the People (of the USA)

Binh Huynh (Feb. 9, 2017)

This writing is intended for U.S. citizens (native born or naturalized). I hope the readers are proud to be Americans. If not, you will be angry with me for my sincere opinions.

It is unpatriotic for Americans to harm the United States. We are protected by the Constitution to demonstrate (even against the President) or to express ourselves and affirm our Rights in a peaceful way. By all means, we must protect the interests of this Great Nation. Let’s not follow (imitate) our Enemies to harm our own country.

The U.S. is a country with the best System of Government based on Democracy, with Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Religion and especially Freedom to vocalize one’s political views (affiliations/inclinations).

We must boldly express our opinions concerning politics, furthermore, we must speak up on behalf of the oppressed and the downtrodden. (1) We can choose to have the gentle tone or the belligerent tone in criticizing (or correcting) weak policies (mistakes) of our government, with the intention of helping promote the causes in a positive way. By all means, we must stay away from violence. When we resort to violence, we inadvertently damage the interests of other (U.S.) citizens.

Women and children are being especially protected by U.S. Law and respected in American Society. In fact, the U.S. is among highly civilized countries that respect women and children the most. For example, in public greetings you would hear “Ladies and Gentlemen” and not the other way around. In the Middle East, it’s commonplace for people to “cut off women’s noses”, to “savagely beat them up” or worse to “stone them to death while burying them up to their necks”.

In my opinion, American women and all women living in the US, who enjoy the high status and respect, should advocate and fight for the plight of less fortunate women, who are victims of abuses or who are being treated as animals or slaves by their own families.

The U.S. is being blessed with two main political parties (Democrat and Republican) plus Libertarian, Independent, and the Green Party. Citizens can choose the party that they most identify with. In Vietnam, my homeland that I had to run away from, upon the invasion of the VC on April 30/1975, there exists only one party, the communist party, which has absolute control over the people. (Truly speaking Vietnam has become a dictatorship). The pool of candidates are hand picked by the Vietnamese communist regime (VC) from which citizens must cast their votes. What a farce? Citizens must be subservient to the VC ‘s policies for fear of being jailed, tortured and even killed. Dissidents are being crushed if they dare express their thoughts, opinions and ideas contrary to those of the Viet Cong’s.

In the U.S., citizens cast their votes for the President, Senators, Congressmen, Governors, etc. People here use their votes to assert their opinions and wishes, instead of resorting to unpatriotic behaviors and violence, such as burning vehicles on the streets or destroying private property. In another words, U.S. policies will be implemented by the White House rather than by the whimsical demanding masses on the streets.

Why in the world would we “Americans” burn our flag just because we oppose the government’s policies or oppose the President? I firmly believe that we should never burn our flag (even though it’s allowed by the Freedom of Speech clause and is not considered a criminal act). Our flag represents our “Spirit and Soul”. It’s the symbol of our proud Heritage. Isn’t it borderline insanity to make underwear out of our flag and then burn it?

We belong to a highly civilized country with well-educated and top-notched individuals. We should discern what is truthful information as opposed to trashy, distorted or fabricated ones. We should not let unscrupulous politicians or individuals shove trashy, distorted, and fabricated information down our throats with the intention of confusing us, or deviating us from making smart decisions on what policy to support or what to boycott. We must have the clear mind to decide for ourselves. We must never let others incite us into committing criminal acts or acts of infamy.

God’s children must even be more prudent. The Bible teaches us wonderful things from Our Father, yet it doesn’t cover any and everything that we should or should not do. However, the Bible warns us that whenever in doubt (not knowing whether it’s Evil or not), we should avoid carrying out the acts.(2)

All federal, state, local officials voted in or being nominated (including the President), Democrat or Republican, who openly or secretly solicit and support mass uprising to harm the U.S. can be compared to a” soldier who shoots his own foot”.

It’s shameful for them to be above the Law, especially after they make the pledge to be loyal to the country and moreover to love and protect its national interests.

I love the United States as much as I love my beloved Vietnam. My wife and I have taught our children to love and protect the USA, to bear Arms for Her, to contribute to her overall well-being (and never to defame Her), yet to also remember Vietnam which has been under the dictatorship of the VC since April 30/1975. “Don’t expect the U.S. to be like Heaven”, “do work hard and contribute to its prosperity”. I told them, “The US has strength and weaknesses but It gives us FREEDOM”–

“Praise God for His Blessings upon this Promised Land … But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whore-mongers, and sorcerers and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: Which is the second death. (Revelation 21:8). Beware, Heaven will not be open to those liars and cowards whose selfish glory (and gain) comes from the death and sacrifice of others.

We have also reminded our children that “if the Enemies take over this country, we have nowhere to run to”. Whoever doesn’t like the US is free to leave. Immigrants from other countries or even Vietnam are free to repatriate to live with the wicked VC.

We, American Citizens, will stand with righteousness and truthfulness, regardless of physical danger and monetary loss(es). We are our independent “Self”(Selves). We affirm that under no circumstances will we change or alter our personality. For as we lose our “Personality” we are no better than “Dead”. How pitiful! That is my conviction.
